There are currently two terminals at Gatwick with plans for a third in the pipeline.
North Terminal is the newer of the two and has recently been refurbished to an outstanding world class standard. This terminal is home to British Airways. There is a 4-star luxury hotel located on-site at the terminal with a direct covered walkway into the terminal.
South Terminal is the original terminal building and is the base for many airlines including Virgin Atlantic. Hotels at the South Terminal include the Hilton and the Courtyard by Marriott. The Hilton is connected to the terminal whereas the Courtyard by Marriott is within walking distance.
A monorail service connects the terminals together. This service is provided free of charge and journey time is just 2-3 minutes. The monorail is in operation during airport hours.

If you need to get from one terminal to the other you can simply take the inter-terminal monorail. It's free and the journey time is 2-3 minutes. The monorail operates during airport hours and runs every 5-7 minutes.
